Control & Drive System Analyst Mississauga 2067019

We are seeking qualified candidates to fill permanent Control & Drive System Analyst positions in our Maintenance Department.
Overall Responsibilities

The Controls and Drives Analyst will have an intermediate level of understanding/knowledge of PLCs, DCSs within their BU, various communication systems, drives and process controls in order to work with minimal guidance from a Senior Analyst/Specialist in resolving issues related to process equipment.


Accountabilities

Follow system lock outs prepared by senior team members before working on any process equipment (electrical, hydraulic, air)

Develop simple Electrical Device Lockouts (3 or less devices)

Self teach, with little guidance from a mentor, from manuals or internet to perform physical or software work on any process sensor (flow pressure, temperature, speed, tension etc.) or associated regulation systems of the above sensors.

Assist with and develop knowledge about frequency and step responses from a formal mentor.

Work on all process regulators associated within current BU (drives & sensors) with minimal guidance senior team members.

Works with minimal guidance from senior team members in updating or changing any software (operating system or applications) and hardware (controllers or sensors) for all level 0/1 controllers within BU.

Implements minor improvements to the control systems in a local area and/or for specific equipment with minimal supervision from a senior team member.

Participates in reliability or improvement initiatives within the measurement & control system field.

Build relationships with others within the BU pertaining to equipment of a computerized control system (i.e. PLCs, DCSs, PCs, drives, networks).

Work within activity groups through problem solving of any measurement or control problem (PLCs-PCs, DCSs drives, sensors)

Assist senior personnel for maintaining and reviewing spare parts in the CMMS system to ensure parts are available when needed for critical pieces of equipment.

Work closely with the Sensor & Measurement group to resolve or implement changes.

Assist the Level 0/1 Sensors & Measurement and Instrumentation group in rectifying control issues within the various process control systems.


Qualifications & Experience

College Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Technology, and/or;

University Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, and/or;

1+ years of experience with control and drive systems


Knowledge & Skills

Technical knowledge of the Process Lines operation.

Excellent knowledge of Electrical Control Systems.

Good understanding of related software maintenance tools. (i.e. CMMS, ICMS)

Excellent analytical and assessment skills

Good troubleshooting skills with Electrical/Mechanical Equipment

Good decision making skills relating to Equipment Improvement
