Business Services Manager

This position is responsible for leading the North America Centralized Estimating Team, building alignment of estimating and pricing practices. Also manages large RFQs, provides Estimators with information needed to estimate costs for RFQ items and assimilates estimated costs into RFQ formats. Works with Commercial Team and Operations to determine pricing to be submitted.
Responsibilities Include:
Manage Centralized Estimating Team including alignment of practices across all facilities/product lines. Management responsibilities also include developing goals and annual reviews.
RFQs: Manage Requests for Pricing for large opportunities for gaining new business or maintaining existing business including review of all documentation such as drawings, specifications and artwork. Compiles information needed for estimating costs. Allocates work to Estimators, who creates estimated costs in local ERP systems. Estimated costs are sent back to the Business Services Manager who consolidates information for pricing. Works with Commercial Team and Operations to determine pricing to be submitted. Prepares submission in Customer provided format for submission.
Develop and maintain customer pricing matrix as needed.
Interact with the customer service and sales departments and internal and external customers.
Assist in sales presentations as needed.
Assist with developing and maintaining machine rates, labor rates and material cost in estimating databases.
Review any pricing issues/discrepancies.
Work with production in understanding cost issues to improve margins.
III. Position Requirements:
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma, college degree preferred
5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment with multiple product lines. Pharmaceutical printing/folding industry experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
Ability to think and act independently.
Must be able to evaluate structural drawings.
Ability to read and understand customer specifications.
Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Must be aware of and responsive to time constraints.
Should possess a broad understanding of Current Good Manufacturing Practices as they relate to pharmaceutical printed components.
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Work effectively with all levels of the organization.
Good computer skills, knowledge of MS office
IV. Physical Demands:
Individuals will need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 25 pounds for files, computer printouts on occasion.
V. Work Environment:
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection may be required. Manufacturing areas also requires the removal of personal items such as jewelry, rings, bracelets, watches, necklaces, and earrings. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
