Bindery Supervisor - 3rd Shift

We are currently recruiting a Bindery Supervisor to join our team. The person will ensure that company goals are met through proactively monitoring
employee safety, productivity, and quality of work at all times while driving lean initiatives that ensure a world class manufacturing operation. They must ensure consistency where
policies and procedures are concerned by providing prompt feedback to all employees as needed. It is also the responsibility of Essentra supervision to provide a safe work environment
for all employees by proactively monitoring both building security as well as equipment

The role and responsibilities listed below are not all inclusive or exclusive:

Ensure personnel are working safely, efficiently and are producing good quality product
at all times through frequent observation throughout each shift.
Through adequate personal knowledge, ensure that all employees are following
department procedures and have a good understanding of what they are.
Adjust assignments as needed when presented with unplanned absences through
knowledge of schedule and utilization of employees.
Work with Plant leads to provide effective cross training of employees to maximize shift
versatility to meet production needs.
Initiate and investigate all concerns as needed and in a timely manner.
Ensure all materials are available for each job prior to set up beginning. (Trays, cartons,
shrink film, chip board, and material from cutting)
Assist in maximizing production on OT through self-availability and adequate coverage.
Understand and consistently ensure that all company policies and procedures are
followed without fail.
Keep up with attendance and vacation request on a daily basis to ensure that employees
time is accurate, and that payroll is met each week without error.
Continuously drive productivity and quality improvements that create a world class
manufacturing operation.
Perform all other duties as requested by management

This role requires supervisory responsibilities for all employees on the assigned shift.

Internal: Daily contact with Managers, supervisors and employees
External: Some contact with suppliers and/or independent contractors

Education and/ or Experience:

This role requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or
equivalent education with an Associate degree preferred. The successful candidate must have at least
2 years of previous experience in a similar role managing at least 30 associates. This role requires
familiarity with pharmaceutical printing or packaging industry strongly desired. Previous experience
with Mark Andy, Comco, and Gallus presses is highly desired.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: This role requires excellent verbal, written, organizational, and
interpersonal skills.
COMPUTER SKILLS: This role requires basic computer skills.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The successful candidate must also be able to train and guide
others in a productive manner.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a manufacturing environment and the
employee will be near mechanical parts and equipment.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Hearing protection is provided and required in
the production areas.
