Founded in 1944 as a producer of coiled furniture springs, Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company has grown into one of the nation's largest integrated components manufacturers and suppliers for the furniture and bedding industries with more than 60 operating facilities in the United States and throughout the world.

The furniture industry is the largest segment of Hickory Springs' customer base. With more than 160 flexible polyurethane foam formulations, Hickory Springs is one of the United States' largest producers of foam. We pioneered such innovations as Code* Red II combustion inhibitive foam and EnduroFoam® premium performance foam. Introduced in 2006, Preserve® is the first polyurethane foam made with a soybean-based chemical compound, while the reducer of petroleum-based chemicals.

Hickory Springs is also a leader in the manufacture and distribution of metal components for the furniture and RV industries. The company is one of the nation's largest manufacturers of sleeper mechanisms for contract, industrial and consumer markets. Hickory Springs' metal division produces a wide variety of motion mechanisms including incliners, recliners, rockers and swivel bases. Hickory Springs also has its own tempered steel wire drawing operations, which is used in the manufacturer of a broad line of coil springs and sinuous wire products for the upholstery, bedding, automotive, maintenance and supermarket industries.

The company has extended its traditional product lines even further, producing sleeper mattresses, polyester fiber cushioning and batting materials for the furniture home comforter and bedding industries. Through the HS Converting Divisions, the company stocks and distributes an extensive range of more than 6,000 supply items, including non-woven fabrics, welt cord, polyflex edging, HS Fasteners pneumatic fastening equipment, packaging materials and strapping.

Extruded plastics produced by Hickory Springs are now being utilized in products for the construction and telecommunications industries. The company's fiber and batting can be found in everything from bed pillows and futons to ironing board covers, as well as automotive seats and home insulation.

Hickory at Home is the consumer retail products division of Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company, Inc. The division produces and distributes exclusive lines of futon frames and mattresses, youth furniture, memory foam pillow products and daybeds. These products are sold through hundreds of furniture stores, sleep shops, catalog companies and furniture chains located throughout the nation.
